About Me
I come from a lineage of storytellers.
Long before I knew what film was, I understood the impact of a pause. The moment when a room becomes still and a voice begins to bring a world into being. My parents carried these worlds with them from Kosovo from a time when stories were not written down, but lived in bodies, in memory, in the way a sentence was held or released. Stories were not only a way of telling, they were a way of belonging.
I grew up between realities. In Germany, the land of my ancestors did not exist in the collective imagination. It lived only in our kitchen, in our language, in the images my parents shaped through words. From an early age, I felt that a part of my identity had no visible place in the world outside my home. It was there that my need to tell stories began. Not to explain, but to make visible. Not to provide answers, but to create space.
Film became that space for me. A place of encounter. A place where the invisible can take form. I am drawn to what exists beneath the surface the quiet imprints of history within individuals, the inner landscapes people carry, the fragility and strength of identity and the subtle processes of transformation and healing. Especially the experience of being a woman as inheritance, as presence, as an ongoing movement between what has been and what is yet to emerge.
I believe in listening. In allowing truth to unfold when people are given the space to fully exist.
As a female filmmaker and as the mother of a daughter, I am deeply aware of lineage and continuity. I think of the women who came before me whose lives, choices, resilience, and vulnerability prepared the ground on which I now stand. So much of what they carried lives on within me, as memory, as responsibility, as a quiet form of transmission.
My work is an act of preservation a living archive of voices, experiences, and inner truths that might otherwise disappear. And at the same time, it is a space that does not contain, but allows for breath. A space where identity can continue to evolve. Where transformation remains possible. Where what has been can be witnessed and what is yet to come can begin to emerge.
My work lives in this in-between. Between memory and presence. Between silence and voice. Driven by a deep desire to create images in which we can encounter ourselves beyond borders, beyond definitions, closer to what connects us at our core.
"Every great story transforms a piece of your inner world."

When thirteen-year-old Uka gets her first period, she discovers healing powers tied to a secret female lineage, but every healing act shortens her life; as she searches for her missing mother, she must face an ancient force and choose between self-preservation and sacrifice.
Collaboration
Alongside my own film projects, I work with writers and productions to develop stories from their earliest impulse to their final form. Using the Playourscript method, I guide storytellers in building narratives with clarity, depth, and emotional precision.
"A strong script gives you a chance at a great film. A weak one gives you none."
